WHY THIS PAGE IS HERE:

In 1986, I contracted a virus that didn't go away. I had a 99.9 degree temp for 9 months, that left me weak, in pain and without any idea what was going on.  My life changed drastically.

Like many of you, It took me 10 years to get a diagnosis and began the process of trying to live with this condition. It has not changed my focus towards working with clients spiritually, in fact it helped resolute that I needed to do all I could for clients.  What it did was double my efforts to learn all I can about this condition, and to fight hard for the legitimacy of those dealing with this condition.

Our wall on Facebook is dedicated to those amazing Men and Women that are dealing this this condition, to help people help themselves, find a way to cut through myths that can not only be self destructive, but also perpetuate bad family relationships, end marriages, as well as bad doctors who may not be treating us effectively.  We know that the suicide rate for those with Fibro ranges from 19-25%,... "48% higher than people with "just back pain, when compared in a control study." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24790444 (NIH study 2014).

ADRENAL FATIGUE OR DISFUNCTION COULD BE KEY

Our believe is that we need to start looking into a more wide circle of Adrenal disfunction that would certainly account for most of the symptoms fibro seems to have:
  1. Body Temperature Disfunction:  we get hot/cold without a reason, with severe sweating that is worse than menopause.  We constantly itch.  Both of these function regulations are found in the adrenal system.
  2. Unable to turn off Pain: when the adrenals are pushing there is no pain, but when the body stops fighting, (fight or flight) the body will react with extreme pain.  When there is chronic pain, the body will continue this cycle of extreme flooding of adrenaline.  Because of this increase in adrenaline, the body will react to even the slightest touch as being assaulted.  There is no longer a 'shut off', and our flares not only get longer, but worse.  There is some conjecture that our pain levels not only increase, but with our 'bodies ability to accommodate pain", we can pass out from pain due to severity.
  3. Gut issues: stress causes the body to slow down gut reactions including how to process food efficiently, dumping extra serotonin, sometimes restricting or over dumping blood supply which effects our body from being able to process medications, causing additional
  4. Unable to sleep, unable to stay awake: both are regulated by our adrenals because of stresses that are perceived by the body to be "harm" regardless.  In sleep studies they find that there is no 'restorative sleep' which is the same as torture, found in PTSD cases and prisoners of war.
  5. Fibro fog an indication of severe adrenal fatigue:  Our brains will stop gathering information due to the severity of pain. Our adrenals will also react to our thoughts differently than they did before, because every thought becomes more magnified in a fight or flight response otherwise known as "hyper vigilance."

These are my thoughts and hypothesis at this time.  Of course, proof will be possibly in the future when we know more about fibro.

My comment regarding pain that was requested on Quora and shared on Days and Nights:

Does Bioresonance therapy help in fibromyalgia patients to cease the pain?

It seems to be a form of Biofeedback and ‘E-meters’ used by Scientology. I think what helps is the reduction of stress and how you learn to control your stressors. Whether you use meditation, biofeedback, or anything that can help you learn how to reduce your stress load is helpful in reducing pain. Nothing at this point in MY honest opinion, ceases pain in fibromyalgia. What we can do is learn how we react (personally) to pain and do the best we can to calm our systems. I hope this helps some.

When using biofeedback remember the focus is learning how YOUR body reacts to stressors and attempt to use your mind to try to calm your autonomic nervous system. Some people find it helpful, other’s find it doesn’t work. No different than any other self calming attempts.

What we know is that from studies on Yogis and others find that the act of getting a ritual together that we do on a regular basis, actually triggers serotonin and dopamine production even before meditation takes place, the same way that listening to music that triggers our emotions causes the emotions to calm us/cause us to tear up/or causes excitement as soon as we hear the introduction of the song. The same happens with meditation, etc. However, the stronger your pain levels, the harder it will be to actually divert your attention away from pain (in my experience and in talking with others), this is partly why we have fibro fog, along with our inability to sleep for any period of time; Our pain levels are just too high, moment to moment transience (areas in pain), causing our pain to be in the forefront which makes most meditation impossible without aids of some kind.

I think when we (researchers, science, etc) start looking at our adrenal system more, we may have more significant answers on fibromyalgia, CFS and other conditions. Will using biofeedback or Bioresonance therapy help you? That will be based on your body, your mind and what works for you. Everyone is different. My very best to you! Feel welcome if you’d like support from others found here at: Facebook (this link should take you to our wall called “Days and Nights with Fibromyalgia” in Facebook. There are some excellent ambient sounds linked to my youtube site, along with self meditation, and guided self hypnosis). I truly believe in using everything you can to help yourself and your pain. My very best to you.
